Bobby Alloway is a real down to earth unassuming sort of guy who prefers to let his cars do the talking. Only they don’t just talk, they shout! That’s why this soft spoken Tennessean has become one of the Hot Rodder nation’s most well known and sought after builders.
It all started when as a teenager Bobby decided he wanted a hot rod. Only problem was he couldn’t afford to buy one! Not even a beater. His only choice - he had to build it himself. And almost from the very beginning he had this strong feeling about what a hot rod’s stance should look like. Bigger tires & wheels in back, smaller in front, both completely filling the wheel wells to produce an aggressive stagger, a look that would eventually become a Bobby Alloway hallmark - the “Alloway Rake”. After that first hot rod Bobby never really stopped building. Pretty soon he started to build such a reputation that people began to seek him out to have him build their hot rods and that eventually spawned Alloway's Hot Rod Shop. Over the years Bobby's shop began to build a series of award winning hot rods. In fact in 1995 they even introduced their own line of hot rods called the Speedster series that took off like a rocket and Bobby and his team have built literally hundreds ever since.
Alloway’s Hot Rod Shop likes to say they marry muscle car attitude with hot rod craftsmanship. It’s a winning combination that has led to a Ridler, 3 America’s Most Beautiful Roadster Awards, Street Rod and Street Machine of the Year Awards and numerous major show Builder of the Year Awards. The most recent was Bobby's stunning '33 Ford Roadster that hit the jackpot by not only winning America's Most Beautiful Roadster Award but also taking top honors in the high profile, hotly contested 2015 SEMA Battle of the Builders competition. With these and many other awards the real question is “what award hasn’t Bobby won?” Despite the accolades, the awards, the notoriety, the best thing about Bobby Alloway to those that know him is that throughout it all he has stayed a humble man.Read More
