2018 Ridler Winner - "Imagine"

The Don Ridler Memorial Award for excellence in building goes to “Imagine”, the 1957 Chevy Radical Hardtop artfully crafted by Johnny’s Trim & Rod Shop. There are ’57 Chevys and then there’s “Imagine”. The 2018 Ridler winner is a radical re-imagination of a true classic. Proud owners Greg & Judy Hrehovcsik took a chance and came out on top.

One look at this ride and it’s clear the body modifications are extensive. To begin with, there’s the 3 inch chop. The body was channeled three inches, then wedged and sectioned one inch in the back, three in the front. She rides on custom wheels, fabricated to look like stock hubcaps. What’s on the inside is just as impressive as what’s on the outside. This elegant ride has a beast within, she’s powered by a twin turbo 515ci big block Chevy. There are over 1,000 horses under that pancaked hood waiting to run. All of that power is married to a Turbo 400 Tranny which is resting on a tubular chassis. The interior is a marriage of modern styling with classic roots, all custom of course. All told, hundreds of modifications, thousands of hours and countless custom and one off parts went into building this top prize winning ride.

That question that’s been on everyone’s lips since the doors opened Friday morning has been answered. So finally it’s time to take a gander at this prize winning beauty; the 2018 Ridler winner “Imagine”.
