Back in 2004 when Neal Gerber and his 2 sons Phil and Jeremy purchased a small niche chassis business, little did they know that within just 10 short years they would have built a family dynasty that is now regarded as one of the foremost power house builders in all of hot rodding and many think they’ve only just begun. Their story is an example of how “good ole American ingenuity” combined with a relentless unwavering commitment to the quality of the details can cause a business to explode exponentially.
Today turn key custom rods not only account for a substantial part of there business (they still are selling 300 to 400 chassis annually too) but their distinctive look and stance combined with jaw dropping performance have rocketed them to the very top of the heap among elite hot rod builders.
The list of award winning cars they’ve built is staggering. Though everyone of them is show quality, the Gerbers build no trailer queens. You can take them to the track and they’ll deliver mind blowing, heart stopping, super car performance. A good example (one of many) is the custom ’62 Corvette they built that won Street Machine of the Year and then proceeded to obliterate the competition in a national high profile autocross event. Let me tell you, this Gerber crew knocks it out of the park every time. To them the impossible is just the next problem to solve.
Their builds usually start with a computerized 3D rendering. They all incorporate one of their custom chassis, often include OEM exact spec steel bodies that they manufacture themselves, and when a critical part doesn’t exist, no problem….. they’ll create and produce it on one of their state-of-the-art CNC machines. With the one exception of upholstery, there is nothing they can not do in house. They may be the most compete and fully integrated hot rod builder/manufacturer in the business. And oh by the way, they’re doubling the size of their 30,000 sq ft. facility!
The Gerber posse has been in business for just a little over 10 years and they’ve already propelled themselves to the top echelon of U.S. hot rod builders. They’ve now started to apply their copious talents to the high end super car segment - Ferrari, BMW, Mercedes, Porsche. In another 10 years do you suppose they can propel themselves to the same position globally? We wouldn’t bet against them!Read More
