It was a true hot rodding grand slam home run. For me, it just doesn’t get any better than the Good Guys Nostalgia Nationals.  Hot Rods, Customs, Classics and Vintage Racing, all happening at the historic and picturesque Beech Bend Park.  It was in a word:  perfect. The rare gem that is Beech Bend Raceway Park is the ultimate setting for the best Good Guys has to offer. It was a spot on show.  Perfect weather, perfect rides, perfect racing.  Cool people, cool cars and a great times why yes indeed! Hundreds upon hundreds of the finest rides crammed the grounds to nearly full. Everything from obscure one off untouched survivors to Big Buck Builder’s Choice contenders and everything and I mean everything in-between. It was a splendid display of the best American automotive engineering had to offer. Then the racing oh the racing. Nothing like walking around the finest of the finest with raging horsepower tearing down the track as the soundtrack for your stroll. The full racing schedule included everything from hot rod classes and nostalgia top fuel dragsters to nitromethane burning funny cars. From gates open to just a smidge after the official 5 o’clock close it was full on bone shaking, rubber flying racing again, perfection. Beech Bend Raceway Park as venue for a Good Guys show is beyond compare.  I don’t know many other places where the spectators are only feet from the drag strip, the AutoCross track and lush rolling grounds filled with the finest hot rods as far as the eye can see. The 6th Good Guys Nostalgia Nationals was aces simply aces!

That I had fantastic company all weekend made it even that much better, lucky me. Take a gander at my idea of a perfect day.
