Iron Invasion 2015

You know it’s fall when the leaves start turning and you’ve gotta put that extra layer on under your dungarees but for us in the great midwest the real sign to get the club jacket out of moth balls is the Invasion. Iron Invasion that is, mercifully heating up our sleepy little burg here in Northeast Illinois, giving us the ultimate treat with nary a trick in sight. This Invasion of Iron adds that extra dose of hot and spicy to take the chill off and if only for a day make us forget that it’s 6 long cold moths until Vintage Torque Fest when we can once again come out and play. Mr. John Wells, the mastermind behind the Iron Invasion and Vintage Torque Fest has really honed his skills at putting on an outstanding events, honoring those that the put this traditional wheel in motion while at the same time keeping it new and fresh. You don’t get much better traditional hot rod and custom shows than these, with the perfect mix of rides and revelry. This year’s Iron Invasion was no exception, it was stellar. The music was off the charts, but I’ll get to that later. There was a display of historic honeys that would make even the hardest of you out there take a moment to yourself and gawk with wonder and childlike delight. And this year I had my first introduction to the Los Viejitos Car CLub. Talk about righteous rides, these cats know how to do it and do it right. Groupie in the first degree over here. As you can surmise it was a fantastic show and I for one am thrilled the torch was picked up and carried on in such style.

One last note on the awesomeness of this show, the gate proceeds go to the Helping Hannah’s Heart Foundation, a non-profit foundation that helps families that are faced with the devastation of having a child born with a congenital heart defect. It’s never a problem to pay to enter a show, I know so much goes into putting a good show on but when your money goes to such a worthy cause it makes you more than happy to pay.

Now for the goods, check it out my friends, this was an insane Invasion of the first degree.

Now to moving pictures.

In addition to putting on TWO unbelievable shows every year, the Invasion and Vintage Torque Fest, I have to give a hearty nod of approval to Mr. Wells for having outstanding taste in music. First, it was “The Texas Troubadour” Mr. Dale Watson at Vintage Torque Fest who absolutely blew my mind and made me an instant fan. Now this year my new band addiction is the Wifee & Huzz Band. They were insanely fantastic, now I’m going to have to find my way to Packerland to check them out again, at least I have the CD I bought to tide me over until then. Mr. Wells bring them back next year, please!

Can you keep a secret – guess who’s Las Vegas bound? What’s in Vegas you ask, well friends, SEMA is. Yep, the KruzinUSA.com gang is heading to SEMA. We are so excited, it’s a real honor to be invited to the show of shows. This is something you are not going to want to miss. Trust me on this, stay tuned.
