SEMA Ignites Vegas

There’s only one way to end the world’s largest automotive speciality product trade show; blow it up. Strike a match and Ignite this thing, the 2015 SEMA Show is in the books but not before one scorching after party, SEMA Ignited. Coolest thing about the hottest event in town, the Trade only show opens up to the public, first for a gearhead dream parade of righteous rides from the LVCC to the Ignited lot, then to the party itself. Every Tom, Dick and Harry with 20 bucks can rub shoulders with the best of the best, a huge return on a small investment in my book! And if that’s not enough, they hold out until SEMA Ignited to make the biggest announcement of the entire week; the winner of the SEMA Battle of the Builders. The dang anticipation, is it killing you. Ok then.

Drum roll please…… and the SEMA 2015 Builders Shootout grand prize and top honors go to Bobby Alloway and his ’33 full-fendered steel Ford Roadster. Holy Smokes what a ride and what a day, I bet it’s one Mr. Alloway won’t forget anytime soon. It is a well deserved honor for a beautiful ride and with that unmistakable Alloway stance, just beautiful. He sure do know how to build a HOT Rod. He was humble and so happy, his enthusiasm and excitement were contagious. Bravo Mr. Alloway, job well done, rod well built!

Before I go on much further I’ve got to mention that I’m noticing there is a direct relationship between the number of days at SEMA and the number of words in my blogs. More SEMA, more to show, so less words; forgive me in advance if I’m a bit more brief than normal.

Now on to Bobby’s Beauty.

Ok, I know winning is mighty nice but taking second and third place at SEMA ain’t so bad. Especially considering the company these fellas were in and the hundreds of insane rides that were vying for the top prize. Without further ado, second place went to Chip Foose and his ’65 Impala artfully married to a ’09 Corvette chassis and third place ribbon went to Alan Johnson and his adroitly rejuvenated read (totally hand crafted)’53 Studebaker. Both stunners and more than worthy to be in the top three.

Vegas was scorched Friday night when SEMA Ignited. Let’s just say this is an “after party” like no other, Igniting Sin City with the hottest rides on the planet, leaving nothing but an empty parking lot and wishes for 2016 to hurry up and get here already. Move over Britney and Celine, SEMA Ignited was the hottest ticket in Vegas. It was hundreds of SEMA Show Cars and Trucks rolling out of the Las Vegas Convention Center and gathering for a night of radical rides, rock and roll, celebrities oh and more world class rides. Doesn’t get much better than that. It was a feast for the senses after which I think I am going to have to take to my bed for a good week.

Enjoy.
