Congratulations Casey Currie!
Casey wins the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge after winning the 5th and final stage in his Can-Am Maverick X3. Stage 5 was the shortest of the rally at only 215km. Casey had to make up a 43 second deficit to take the win on the final day. He would finish with a min and 12 seconds over 2nd place in the SxS class. The stage win would bump him to 4th overall Car on the entire rally. Casey was able to win 3 of the 5 stages as well to become the first American to win the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge in a Car Classification.Image attachment

This is an ARP head stud for a 6.0 powerstroke. It was in the engine for approximately 110,000mi and 8 years. Truck never touched a track, never mudded, towed a snowmobile trailer with a max weight of 5,000lbs. I purchased extra ARP assembly lube so I could make sure the torque was perfect. Fast forward to now. Truck starts pushing coolant and I find this snapped stud on the driver side rear bottom row. ARPs answer: do you have coolant problems?

Me: I do now that the bottom corner of my head is lifting

ARP: The coolant corroded your head stud, pull more out and youll find you need to replace them all

Guy on the phone was a complete a-hole and basically said where to go and how to get there.

Well, the stud looks pretty clean to me ARP... How about coming clean and admitting your initial torque of 250lb-ft was too high and causing stud failure. And while youre at it how about you step up and replace my ENTIRE SET. I now have to do an entire head job thanks to this. People spend their hard earned money on your products because theyre supposed to be the best.

What is it? You’re looking at the bottom end of a rather rare
2.5L Hemi V-8 out of a 1962 Daimler SP250. This engine
was developed by Daimler in the late 1950s and has
nothing to do with Chrysler. And this Daimler is British,
not German. A stock block is shown in the background.
For the new build, ARP studs and bolts are employed
throughout, as are the rod bolts that came with the
Manley rods. Visible “tricks” include beefy 4-bolt mains
(design courtesy of UK drag racer Robin Read and his
6-second Daimler-powered fuel dragster) and special
front and rear main seals. The build will be covered
by EngineLabs.
